Leavenworth city commissioners have not yet settled on a dollar amount for a stormwater maintenance fee. But during a meeting, commissioners discussed options that would charge annual fees ranging from $72 to $96 per year for single family residences.
For months, commissioners have been discussing the implementation of a fee to pay for maintenance of the city’s stormwater system, which carries rainwater away from buildings and roads. The water is channeled into creeks and watershed areas.
City officials say they have identified more than $83 million in needed maintenance to the stormwater system.
